Starting Salary
- $75,372.50 for new hires with 0 – 3 years of full-time experience. Top rate at the end of the 5th year
- $86,730.00 for new hires with 3+ years of full-time experience. Top rate at the end of the 3rd year
- 2026 top rate base pay $110,037.59

Time Off
- Vacation time based on time of service (80 hours after your first year)
- 88 hours of holiday time
- Time and ½ pay on 5 major holidays
- 24 hours of personal time after 5 years of service (8 hours after 1 year)
- Comp time available up to 40 hours in your bank per year
Schedule
- Patrol Officers work 12-hour shifts on the “Pittman Kelly” schedule. Officers work 0700-1900 or 1900-0700 with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off every other week. Officers rotate shifts every 2 months.
- “Buddy day” switches are allowed

- Healthcare opt-out available. Officers are paid ½ of the cost of our plan per month.

Sick Leave
- Officers have “unlimited” sick time in accordance with the CBA.
- Short-term disability. Officers are paid 100% for 6 months
- Long-term disability. Officers are paid 66 2/3% for 1 year
Life Insurance
- Officers are provided with $100,000 in term life insurance while employed.
Pension
- Vested after 12 years
- Normal retirement is after 25 years of service and 55 years old.
Pension is calculated at 50% of base pay for your last 3 years worked.
Currently paying 5% into the pension fund.

Uniform Allowance
- $950 per year loaded on PEX card for uniform purchases (after your first year)

Residency Requirements
- Within 1 year after probationary period, Officers must reside within 10 air miles of our jurisdictional boundaries east, west, south, and north as far as Rt. 422
- Joint Police board may grant exemptions
